Volunteering

Aylsham Football Club continues to grow from strength to strength, with the number of youth teams growing every year, and now the development of the 3G pitch and all the opportunities that will bring to the community. It also means that we need to expand our team of volunteers, so that we can make all these things happen.

We have a variety of opportunities for you to get involved with the club, and feel part of the club community.

If there are other things that you think you can help us with that haven’t been listed, then please also get in touch. We are always looking for new ways to include parents and families in the club.

And a big thank you, if you are already gifting the club your time. The club can only offer what it does to the community, because of the time that all the volunteers give.

Our volunteers love working with us, just read what they have to say!

I began as a parent with little to no knowledge or experience of football. I then started helping the existing coach taking the odd online course as I went along. Then the position came up to be head coach, a little unsure at first, but I decided for the sake of the team to take it. I have never looked back since, it is so rewarding to see the children progress and develop. The team and parents are like a family and are all there with their support and encouragement. Although it does require some time and planning at points, the rewards all around are so worth while and I would highly encourage others that are unsure to take the plunge and give it a go, to see their smiling faces, it’s all so worth while.

I have played football ever since I could walk (almost!) and grew up playing for Aylsham Wanderers and then Aylsham Town FC (as the girls and womens' club was called back in the day) before moving away. I have really enjoyed coming back to Aylsham and putting something back into the town where I grew up playing all my football and I would encourage any other females who enjoy seeing girls develop new skills and make friends whether you have ever played football or not to get involved in coaching at Aylsham FC, it is very rewarding and a fantastic club to be a part of.

After my daughter started Wildcats several years ago I soon saw just how much work goes on behind the scenes at Youngs Park to enable our children to enjoy playing. I knew I couldn’t coach a team but I can make a mean cuppa so when the call went out to parents to help in the kitchen I felt it was the least I could do. Several years on and I have joined the committee, helped the coaches, ran the line, stated playing football and made hundreds of cups of tea (and pulled the odd pint)!Volunteering at Aylsham FC really makes a huge difference and I love meeting new people and players every week as well as making some great friends along the way. My hopes are to continue to support the club and develop my skills learning to coach to help young players develop skills and enjoy everything Aylsham FC has to offer.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team in a casual, part-time 3G Customer Service role at Youngs Park, overseeing the 3G pitch, handling customer queries, serving refreshments, and maintaining a clean facility, with flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
